National Maritime Museum Cornwall is a brand new, fully independent
museum, managed by the National Maritime Museum Cornwall charitable
trust.
Exhibits & Programs:
National Maritime Museum Cornwall has a diverse collection of approximately
140 small craft from Britain and overseas. It includes racing dinghies,
working boats, fishing vessels, canoes, punts, rafts, record-breakers
and many more. The collection spans the past 150 years, and the
variety of designs reflects the many ways in which small boats have
been adapted to suit the lives of the people that make and use them.
The Museum also has a collection of artifacts that represent Cornish
maritime heritage. It includes tools that belonged to Cornish sail-makers
and boat-builders, traditional fishing equipment, sailor-made models
and a range of objects associated with the Falmouth Packet service
of 1688 to 1850.
